TITLE: All Hallows Eve (Part 1) AUTHOR: Stephanie SPOILERS: Up to now, I think. I don’t give away any huge plot details (except for in “Hero” ::Le Sigh::) RATING: PG-13 at most DISCLAIMER: I own nothing except for the plot and even that is derivative from the show. (Hey, Joss, you could always hire me as a writer, than it wouldn’t be against any copyright laws! Sorry, shameless plug in case he might somehow be reading this, which is not on the likely, I know) SUMMERY: You think nothing happens on Hallowe’en in the Buffyverse? I think not. NOTE: I know it ain’t Hallowe’en but it’s the only thing I could think of. This is in response to the fan fic challenge to write a story of Doyle coming back for one day and only one day and use the song “Heroes” by David Bowie. It was All Hallows Eve the next day. Legend holds that’s the night when the dead may return to earth to visit the souls of the living. It was the night when lost souls could be given their shot to come to earth to resolve any of their problems that they had on earth. It is a day for the dead to be given their second chances. (Dramatic much?) Angel, Cordelia, and Wesley weren’t doing anything, obviously. We all know that Hallowe’en is dead for the undead. Most vamps and such find it far too predictable and cheesy to come out on Hallowe’en anymore. Hey, gotta love that vamps have at least a wee bit of class. Well, nothing was planned, that is, until a vision compliments of the Powers That Be arrived full smack into Cordelia’s brain. The blinding pain was almost too much for her to bare. When she came to Angel was holding her wrists to keep her from convulsing and asking her what she saw. She didn’t know how to explain what she saw. A date flew into her head, that she knew. It told her the stroke of midnight of October 30, tonight, the second it turned Hallowe’en. She saw the outside of their office. What she didn’t see was what was coming next. What the evil they were supposed to stop was. But Cordelia got the strangest feeling that it wasn’t evil that was coming knockin’ but the opposite. She told Angel, “I think it’s a vision telling us that something good is gonna happen.” “Maybe, but we’re taking precautions anyway.” He said pulling out his sword. “We’ll have to stay in tomorrow night.” “Did you even think maybe I have plans?” “Like what?” “Okay so I don’t have plans, but I could’ve.” Angel just rolled his eyes and got ready for what was about to occur. Which meant sleep over for Cordelia and Wesley. Boy, that sure sounds fun doesn’t it? (That’s my sarcasm voice for ya) Needless to say, it was exhausting. They were all standing there waiting for this thing to show up. Well, it did. But it certainly wasn’t evil. Angel was in the other room and Wesley had fallen asleep. Cordelia was the one who had saw it happen. She saw a bright white light outside the door and she freaked. She walked over to the door and cracked it open, she grabbed a weapon and walked out and struck it before she saw what it was. “Well, Princess. I’m glad you have better aim now,” a familiar voice said. Cordelia opened her eyes. Standing right in front of her was an old friend, Doyle. She dropped the weapon without thinking and was fixated at the image before her, it was more than she could handle. She passed out.
