Sorta self explanatory DISCLAIMER: I own nothing. Please don't sue, "The only money in my family is underneeth the couch cushins" NOTE: This poem includes a theory of mine that Cordy is being punished for two things: Being a mega-bitch, AND teh wish from the Buffy ep, "The Wish" FEEDBACK: Please!!! Pretty please!!! Once there lived the nastiest bitch in all of Sunnydale She ruled the High School and the like without fail. Along with her friends, Aura, and Harmony These so called “Cordettes” were nobody’s blarney. But one day the Slayer came And she rattled this Queen all the same. Feeling threatened by Buffy the Slayer She tightened her reign over the school layer by layer. While the height of her reign occurred She fell for Xander, someone she had once called “nerd.” While she was happy with Xander She even let up some on the mean banter. But our “Queen C” was meant to be reprove She caught her boy with Willow, the smart girl, in a cove. In her grief she was tortured by sopposed “friends” Only one girl felt that she was good enough for amends. But Anya was evil, who fed off the desires of the spurned Our Queen C gave into her selfishness that burned. She made a wish that day, That our Slayer had never come to Sunnydale to stay. At first, she relished in the thought, Her main competition in life was never sought. But she caused suffering to the earth More than one could, who had been conceived and given birth. Our, selfish Queen C got what was coming As Willow and Xander feasted, she saw her life going. Thankfully, good Giles rescued them with hope like a ray By slaying Anyanka , but that is a tale for another day. While she knew none of that night and day The Higher Powers decided that she needed to pay. She needed atonement and the first thing to go, Was her parents fortune, her wealth died like a crow. Feeling sorry for herself Xander was kind She never knew that kindness could be so blind. So, off to L.A. our new pauper went To the City of Angels she was sent. Dreams of movie stardom flickered in her eyes As in many’s eyes that dream lyes. Her dreams did not come true She had hit rock bottom, that she knew. She trusted the wrong human Or should we say vampire, seeing as he was not a man. And just as she thought she had hit absolute zero Fate intervened. Cue the hero. Angel came and rescued the pearl He saved her from a vamp, hope had not escaped the girl. In thanks she pushed her way in, She appointed herself secretary of Angel Investigation. There was one snafu that she had not counted on, Falling head over heels against her will, to a half demon. Doyle was not what she had wanted in the ideal mate But sometimes, we do not choose our one and only fate. Fate, the only cosmic force with a tragic sense of humor, Was not kind and this love was a doomer. She had finally gotten over her hangup, She was as vulnerable as a pup. She asked him, to ask her to take her out, But it was not fated to be, they weren’t going to go about. Though he cared for her more than words could describe And she cared for him, to not would’ve been a lie. He tore himself away from her lips, She was in shock from how much her heart was doing dips He turned to her, wished that they had had more time She would’ve given anything for that, even her last dime A man who was meant to be, taken from her as she cried She didn’t even get to say a proper good bye. He died a brave and true hero at least She tried to take comfort in that, but it hurt like a beast. Now it was time to fully pay for her horrendous sins, It was time for her atonement to truly begin. The man she was meant to be with, Doyle, Left her a parting gift. Though he didn’t want to curse the one for who he cared His powers he had to endure, she had not been spared. So, there she is, dreams shattered, in the City Of... Her life crushed, like fallen a dove. Angel, and Wesley, they’re the only ones who care At least her punishment now, is something she can bear. And the moral of the parable? Being selfish and mean will get you nowhere in a cinch... Just loves lost, dreams shattered, payback sure is a bitch.
