Vacation Bahamas Part 2 By: Lissa General Disclaimers Cordelia glared at her taxi driver. "Come on, please?" The driver stared at her baggage. "I drive. I don't carry." Cordelia pouted and stomped her foot. "I can't carry it by myself!" She sighed in defeat. "I'll give you an extra twenty dollars." She bounced impatiently. "Please?" The driver sighed in defeat. "Fine. Just please. Stop whining." Cordelia gasped. "I don't whine!" The guy rolled his eyes and picked up three of her bags. "Whatever...can you get the rest?" Cordelia nudged a suitcase with her foot. "You left me the heavy ones." She cringed at the glare she got. "Okay! I've got them! Sheesh!" She picked the last two up and followed the cab driver. Her high heeled boots clicked as she scurried after him. "Slow down! These shoes are Neimen Marcus!" She blew a breath out into her bangs. "Why did I agree to take a night flight?" she grumbled under her breath. "Oh, right. Angel can't fly during the day. Stupid me. I forgot." she said her voice dripping with sarcasm. She layed the bags down and began dragging them across the ground. "I could kill Doyle for this. Let's meet in the terminal. Can't you carry your own bags? He leaves me to do it by myself. In the DARK." she stressed as if the cab driver would feel her pain. "Doesn't he realize what's out here? What if I was attacked by a-" Someone tapped her on the shoulder. "A vampire! There's a vampire on me! Help! Help me!" She dropped her bags and spun around and slammed her fist into her assaulter. She might not be the slayer but she wouldn't go down without a fight. Doyle stumbled backwards as Cordelia's fist hit him in the jaw. "Back off vampire!" she yelled angrilly. Doyle held his hands up in defense. "Hey, hey. It's just me." Cordelia stopped and stared at him for a moment. "Oh." She glanced at the taxi driver with a sheepish grin. "Sorry, Doyle...don't sneak up on me like that!" she scolded. The people walking through the parkinglot had all turned to stare at Cordelia. She glared at them. "What? Like you've never mistaken your friends to be homicidal vampires before! Move on!" Doyle rubbed his jaw with a cringe. "You sure can pack a punch." Cordelia shrugged. "Well you shouldn't have attacked me like that." "Attacked you?! I touched your shoulder." The cab driver rolled his eyes. "Hey, buddy. You know her?" At Doyle's nod he dropped the three luggage bags into Doyle's arms. "Have fun. Where's my twenty dollars." Cordelia's hands flew to her hips. "What? You barely even carried them." The driver crossed his arms. "You're not leaving until I get paid." Cordelia crossed her own arms stubbornly. With a sigh Doyle reached into his back pocket and grabbed his wallet. "How much?" "Twenty for carrying her stuff." Doyle looked at the couple of yards the guy had moved. "Unbelievable." he said under his breath. He handed over a twenty. Cordelia brushed imaginary dust off of her skirt. "You might want to pay for the cab ride." Doyle turned to her with an incredious look. She grinned the grin she had given Angel when he discovered her wet towel on his leather chair. Her guilty as sin look. "My wallet's burried deep in one of these bags. It would be so much easier if..." Doyle sighed again. "How much?" "Thirty for the cab ride." Cordelia looked up in shock. "What? You only took me six blocks." The driver smiled. "My prices are competitive." Doyle reached into his wallet and shoved another thirty dollars at the guy. Just meeting Cordelia in the parking lot had cost him fifty dollars. He slung his duffel over his shoulder and picked up her bags. "My face hurts." he complained. Cordelia rolled her eyes. "You can't even tell I hit you. Quit being a baby." She reached down to pick up her other bags when once again she was tapped on the shoulder. She dropped them and spun around her hands clenched in fists. "Vampire." she wimpered. "I'm sure." Doyle said sarcastically. Cordelia stared up into Angel's eyes. "It is. Why do you sound like you don't believe me?" Doyle struggled under the bags. "Haven't you ever heard the story of the boy who cried wolf? It's fitting." Cordelia glared at him. "I don't know what that's supposed to mean. Like I'd ever go near any smelly sheep." She trailed off thoughtfully. Snapping back into reality she handed Angel her last two bags. "Perfect timing." she chirped holding her small purse. Angel glanced at Doyle. "What happened? Were you in a fight? Your whole jaw is really swollen." Doyle sent Cordelia a look that made her cringe. "Can't even tell huh?" She ignored Doyle and glared scoldingly at Angel. "What took you so long anyway?" Angel looked at the bags in his hands then at her. "I had to pack." Cordelia rolled her eyes. "You only wear black. How hard could it be?" She stomped her foot impatiently. "Hurry up! We are going to miss our flight because someone made us late." She glared accussingly at him and marched on ahead. * * * Doyle relaxed into his plane seat. It had taken them forever to get on because Cordelia had been afraid to part with her luggage. He felt weary already and they'd only gotten as far as the plane. Cordelia leaned over from the seat next to him. "Why such a long face?" Doyle looked up at her with sad, puppy dog eyes. She really had to ask? She grabbed his chin and shook it from side to side. "Smile! Come on, Doyle! We are on our way to the Bahamas!" He let a half smile reach his face. Cordelia pouted and layed her head on his shoulder. "Are you still mad because I punched you in the face?" He frowned. She had to bring that up didn't she? Cordelia pinched his nose playfully. "I'm really sorry. I'll make it up to you I promise." She wrapped her arms around the one of his that was closest to her. "Forgive me?" Doyle groaned inwardly. The woman he wanted most in the world had her head laying on his shoulder and was begging for forgiveness. Like he could say no. "I forgive you." "Yay." she said pulling away. She grabbed her bag and fumbled through it. She pulled a tablet out. "Let's do madlibs." Angel, who was on her other side, nodded eagerly. "Let's get this vacation started." Doyle couldn't help but smile at their energy and excitement. "Okay, okay. Let's have some fun." * * * At the very back of the plane the demons sat watching the threesome. The one from before grabbed his cell phone. "Hello? This is Kae. We are on our way. The Brachen and his girl are on our plane. Only one problem, sir. They have a vampire with them." He cringed hearing the other language ranting. "Yes, it is unfortunate. Would you lik us to kill the vampire?" He nodded. "We'll get it done. Killing him should take no additional time." The guy to his left twirled a stake through his fingers. "Not going to be a problem." Kae hung up the phone and chuckled. "No, it won't be. The Brachen isn't going to know what hit him." TBC
