Vacation Bahamas Part 1 By: Lissa General Disclaimers Doyle walked into the office with a whistle. Cordelia looked up from filing her nails. "Look what the cat dragged in." she commented with a smile. Doyle feined a laugh. "Very funny." Cordelia sent him a crooked smirk. "I thought so." Doyle strattled a chair across the desk from her. "I'm in such a good mood that I'm not going to let your sarcasm bring me down." "Let me guess. Good day at the track." She brought a magazine to her face to hide the smile. "Good day in general." He leaned forward and plucked the magazine from her fingers. "The reason of my good mood might actually interest you." Cordelia raised a skeptical eyebrow. "I highly doubt it." Doyle chuckled and rubbed his hands together. "Okay, maybe I'll go about this another way. Remember that vacation we planned on taking together?" "No." Realization dawned on her face. "Yeah. You're not planning on turning into Mathew McConaughey any time soon are you? Because if not the answer's still no." Doyle pulled two airline tickets from his pocket. "Are you sure about that? Because I have two tickets to the Bahamas right here." Cordelia took one look and jumped out of her seat. "You have tickets the the Bahamas?!" Doyle snatched them out of her reach and backed away. "Yep." "And you're asking me to go with you?" Cordelia's eyes were wide with excitement and disbelief. "Yep." She squealed and began jumping up and down. "The Bahamas?!!" "Yep." he said in the same bored tone but her excitement was getting to him. He grinned. Cordelia ran at him with her arms open. "I love you! I love you! I love you!" She jumped into his arms. Doyle toppled over not expecting to have her weight on him. He fell backwards onto the couch. Cordelia fell with him but she quickly got up and began jumping up and down on the couch. "This is going to be so cool!" Doyle stumbled to his feet. Cordelia suddenly stopped jumping. "Wait a second. What's in it for you? You couldn't possibly be willing to spend this much money on me without wanting something." Doyle shrugged. "Actually I didn't spend anything." "You stole them? Bad Doyle!" She slapped his shoulder a frown marring her beautiful features. "Either that or you're saying it's coming out of my wages which is equally not good." Doyle rubbed his shoulder. "It's neither one. Calm yourself." He shoved the tickets back into his pocket. "Me mum missed me. She wanted to go on vacation together. She told me to invite you and Angel along. She paid for the whole thing." Cordelia's smile returned. "Okay, then I take it back. I don't love you. I love your mother." Doyle frowned. Of course she didn't love him. Wasn't that the disappointment of his life? He didn't have time to continue pouting because Cordelia grabbed him into another hug. "I can't believe it!" She pulled away thoughtfully. "I'll have to get a new bathing suit and some new shoes and-" A paniced look came over her face. "When is this flight?" "Tomorrow evening." "What?! Tomorrow evening? Is your mother crazy?! How can I pack in such little time?" She looked at him totally distressed. Doyle chuckled. "You'll manage. Plus, you could always buy a bathing suit there." Cordelia's grin returned. "Wow. The Bahamas!" She jumped him and again they both fell to the couch. Cordelia giggled as Doyle fell off the couch to the floor. "This is so great. A vacation. A vacation with nothing that even remotely looks like a demon...except Angel." Doyle picked himself off the ground. "A vacation well deserved." "Here we come fun!" Cordelia squealed. * * * A demon stood hidden in the shadows by the window. "Don't count on it." He grabbed a cellular phone from his pocket and dailed. "Sir, the Brachen has been located." He nodded. "Yes. He and a female of their species are traveling to the Bahamas. Yes, I know he must not live. Get the troups on a plane. We're going hunting." TBC
